Install the app

You can install Codingram as an application straight from the browser, without going through any store. Once installed it opens full screen, with its icon on the home screen, and on Android it receives links from the Share menu of any other application. In Chrome and Edge on a computer the Install Codingram notice comes out as a card at the bottom right, and the installed application opens in its own window.

The essentials

  1. On Android, go to Codingram with Chrome and press Install in the Install Codingram notice at the foot of the screen.

  3. Confirm, and open Codingram from its icon, like any other application.

Installing on Android

The first time you sign in with Chrome —and on every visit, until you install it or dismiss it— a notice appears at the foot of the screen: Install Codingram · “Opens like an app, no app store needed”, with the Install button.

  1. Press Install.
  2. Confirm in the system dialog.

If you dismissed the notice

The notice's × (Not now) withdraws it for good in that browser; in another browser or on another device it will show up again. You can still install the application from the browser's menu:

  1. Open Chrome and go to Codingram.
  2. Press the menu (three dots) at the top right.
  3. Choose Add to home screen or Install app.
  4. Confirm.

Other browsers

Firefox, Edge and Samsung Internet also install the application, although the option is elsewhere in the menu.

Installing on iPhone and iPad

iOS shows no notice; the application is installed from Safari:

  1. Open Safari and go to Codingram.
  2. Press the share button () in the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll down the menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
  4. Change the name if you like and press Add.

The installed application

  • It always opens on Home if you are signed in, and on the sign-in screen if not. Never on the public home page, unless you share a link without having signed in.
  • On a phone it runs in portrait.
  • It needs a connection: without a network you will see the browser's error.
  • It is always up to date, with nothing for you to update. When a new version has come out, the What's new section of the menu says so with a number.

With the application installed on Android, Codingram appears in the system's Share menu, so you can send it a product's link from the browser or from the store's application without copying and pasting it:

  1. Open the product's page.
  2. Press Share in the browser's or the application's menu.
  3. Choose Codingram.
  4. Create offer opens with the link already in Product URL.
  5. Extract data is pressed by itself.
Sharing a product link with Codingram from Android

If what you share is text with a link inside —a Telegram or WhatsApp message, for example—, Codingram takes the first link it finds.

  • You need to be signed in. If not, Codingram's public home page opens and the shared link is lost: sign in and share it again.
  • If you had an offer half-done saved as a draft, the shared link replaces it: the screen opens with the new link and that draft is lost.

Not available on iOS

iOS does not let a web application receive links from the Share menu. On iPhone and iPad, copy the link and paste it into Create offer.

The opposite way exists too: the Share button in Create offer hands the offer's message to the phone's share menu, to take it to WhatsApp, X or any other application. Create offer explains it.
