Access and account
Everything that is yours and not the organization's: how you sign in, your email, your password and what you change in My account.
On this page
The essentials
- On the Sign in to Codingram screen, press Continue with Telegram or Continue with Google.
- If it is your first time, on Create your account tick the box for the terms and press Create account. With Telegram, type your email too.
- With Telegram, open the “Confirm your email address” message and press Confirm my email. With Google it is not needed: the email arrives already confirmed.
- On the page that opens, press Confirm email.
Signing in
The sign-in screen, Sign in to Codingram, has two ways in, and both work the same for signing in as for creating the account:
- Continue with Telegram: Telegram asks you to authorize access and you come back already inside.
- Continue with Google: Google confirms your account and you come back already inside.
If it is your first time, the account is created when you continue; if you already had one, you go into it (with Telegram, only if you have it linked in Linked accounts). Free plan, no card.
Below, folded away, is Sign in with username and password: in Username or email either of the two works, along with the password you created in My account. It opens by itself when an attempt fails.
Sign out, at the foot of the side menu, takes you to the home page; in the app installed on your phone, to the sign-in screen.
Fine print: failed attempts and session length
After five failed attempts in a row with the same username, sign-in is blocked for 30 minutes from that connection: “Too many failed attempts. Try again in 30 minutes.”
The session lasts 14 days without signing in again.
Creating the account
The account is only created with Telegram or with Google. The password is one more way of signing in, added afterwards from My account › Create password.
When you continue with Telegram or Google for the first time, the Create your account screen appears. It says what you are arriving with —your Telegram @username or your Google email— and asks for whatever is missing:
- With Google it asks for nothing: your account will use the Google email, which arrives already confirmed. Afterwards you can sign in with Google or give it a password.
- With Telegram it asks for an email address, because Telegram does not share one. We use it to notify you and so that you can recover the account. When you press Create account, a message arrives for you to confirm it.
To create the account you tick a box —it does not come ticked— confirming that you are 18 or over and that you accept the terms of contract and the privacy policy; both links are right there. Without ticking it the account is not created.
Your organization is created along with the account, under your name, on the free plan. If you arrived from a plan's button on the home page or on the plans page, once you sign in you go straight to Subscription with that plan already selected.
Fine print: what is worked out and what is kept when it is created
The version of the terms you accepted, and when, is kept.
Your username is worked out from the email or the Telegram username, and can be changed in Username. The region and time zone are worked out from the browser; the Home assistant shows them to you so you can confirm them: First steps explains it.
Confirming the email
Nothing is published without a confirmed email
Until the organization's owner has a confirmed address, nothing is published in its channels: not by hand, not from the queue, not with automatic publishing. Everything else works the same, and as soon as they confirm it, whatever was waiting in the queue goes out at its time.
To confirm it:
- Open the “Confirm your email address” message and press Confirm my email.
- On the page that opens, press Confirm email.
A confirmed address is also needed to accept an invitation sent to it, to subscribe to a plan and to start the free trial.
If the email does not arrive or the link no longer works
- Check the spam folder before resending it: the subject starts with “[Codingram]”.
- Resend the confirmation email, in My account and in the application's notices, sends another. You have to wait three minutes between two sends.
- The link expires after three days. If it has expired or was already used, the page says “This link no longer works” and, with Go to My account, takes you there to ask for another.
- If the message never went out —because of a sending failure—, the screen says so instead of treating it as sent: ask for it again after a few minutes.
If you forget your password
- On the sign-in screen, unfold Sign in with username and password and press Forgot your password?.
- Enter your account's email and press Send me the link.
- Open the link in the message, type the new password twice and press Save password. You can now sign in with it.
If you have Telegram or Google linked, you can also sign in with them; but changing the password from My account will ask you for the current one, so if you do not remember it, use the link in the email.
If it does not arrive
- Check the spam folder.
- The link is valid for 3 days and works once. If it no longer works, the page says “This link no longer works” and offers Get another link.
- It goes to your account's main email or to another one you have confirmed. An unconfirmed address gets not the link but the notice that this address has no account; the same if you type an address that has no account.
- If we could not send it, the same screen tells you so: ask again in a few minutes.
- If it still does not arrive, write to us at the contact address in the legal notice.
My account
My account brings together your username, your email, your password, your language and your linked external accounts. It is yours, not the organization's: you see it the same wherever you work, and what you change here goes with you to every organization you enter.
- Linked accounts: signing in with Google or Telegram.
- Your details: your email, with its status, the username and the language.
- Save, which lights up as soon as you change something in your details.
- Password: it is changed in a window.
- Delete account.
Linked accounts
The ways of signing in with an external provider: Google and Telegram. For each one you see whether it is linked — with the Google address or your Telegram @username — and you can:
- Link: connect your external account so you can sign in with it.
- Unlink: remove that association. Before that, it tells you what you will keep signing in with.
You cannot be left with no way to sign in
If only one method is left — the last provider, or the password being the only one —, unlinking it is rejected and you are told why. First create a password, or link another provider.
Control bot
It only appears when the bot of the organization you are working in is on —the switch is in Settings › Telegram—, with Open the chat to talk to it. For it to recognize you, all you need is to have your Telegram account linked just above. Telegram bot explains it.
In the Your details card, the address associated with your account and whether it is confirmed:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Confirmed | You have pressed the link in the confirmation email, or you signed in with Google and the provider itself checked the address. |
| Unconfirmed | It has not yet been checked that the address is yours. |
While it is unconfirmed, Resend the confirmation email appears. Why it has to be confirmed and what to do if the message does not arrive is explained in Confirming the email.
Below, in New email address, you type another address; if you do not have any yet, the field is called Email address. On saving it, a message arrives for you to confirm it; until you do, the previous address stays yours.
While you change address
You will see both addresses: the current one with its status, and below it the new one marked as Unconfirmed. Resend the confirmation email sends the message to the one that is waiting, which is the new one.
Beside it appears Cancel the change, which discards the pending address and leaves things as they were. The link expires after three days, but the pending address stays on the screen until you cancel or confirm it.
If you type an address that another user already uses, you are not warned — that way nobody can find out who is registered — but it will not get confirmed on your user either.
Username
It is saved with the rest of the Your details card, from the Save button in the header. It cannot be someone else's, even if the capitalization changes: “Ana” and “ana” are the same name.
Which names are valid
Between 3 and 150 characters: letters —accented ones and the ñ too—, numbers and @ . + - _, with no spaces.
Language
The language in which you see the application: Spanish, English, Italian or French. It goes with you in any browser and device, and each person in the organization can use their own. It does not change the currency or the date format, which come from the organization's region.
Until you choose one, Detect from browser uses the one your browser asks for —or the one you chose on the public pages— and below it says which one is being used. If you choose one here, that one rules.
Emails and the bot's notices reach you in the language you choose; if you have not chosen one, in the last one you used the application in.
Before signing in, the Language menu at the foot of the public pages —the home page, sign-in, the plans and the legal texts— changes the language in that browser.
Password
It is changed in a separate window, which the card's button opens:
- Change password: asks for the current password, the new one and its confirmation.
- Create password: if you signed in only with Google or Telegram, you can create a password to also have access with your username or your email, without going through email.
As you type, the list of requirements is ticked off: at least 8 characters, not only numbers and not one of the usual passwords. It also has to contain an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character, and not resemble your username or your email.
When you save it you stay signed in, in My account: there is no need to sign in again. If you have forgotten it and cannot sign in, follow If you forget your password.
Delete account
Irreversible action
Delete my account deletes your user and, with it, the organization you own with all its content: channels, templates, queues, profiles and history. It asks for confirmation in a window. It cannot be undone.
Before deleting, if you are the owner you can Download my billing data in a file.
Deleting the account cancels your subscriptions on the spot: you lose whatever was left of the period you had already paid for, and that part is not refunded. The dialog tells you so, with the date it ran until. If the payment provider does not respond, nothing is deleted.
If some purchased credit balance is left, the What we do with your balance card says how many credits it is and, if you paid for them, how much money, and lets you choose —I want to spend it before deleting, I forfeit my balance, no refund or I am asking for a refund—, and none of the options comes pre-selected. If you choose to spend it, nothing is deleted yet; if you do not choose, the account is not deleted. What is kept of your billing and for how long, and how the refund works, is explained in Subscription and credits.
You also leave all the organizations of other people in which you worked. What you had published in them stays where it is, without your name.
When it is done, the application takes you to the sign-in screen with the notice “We have deleted your account.”.
